Waste-to-Value: Natural dyes from food leftovers
As part of ‘Cultures of our Food Futures’ by Edible Issues, we hosted a colourful, hands-on workshop exploring the art of natural dyeing with food scraps. Facilitated by Khushboo Gandhi of Go Do Good, participants discovered how to transform everyday kitchen waste into stunning natural dyes.
Through this session, attendees experimented with creating vibrant dyes using vegetable peels, fruit skins, and other natural materials — with conversations on how these dyes can be used in recipes, textile dyeing, painting, and more.
The workshop invited everyone to rethink waste and rediscover the creative potential of what’s often discarded.
