Nutrition Unpacked - Virtual Dinner & Conversation
In collaboration with Future Food Institute & Dole Foods | Hosted in India
As part of “Nutrition For All”, a global research initiative by Dole Foods and the Future Food Institute, Edible Issues hosted a virtual dinner conversation focused on nutritional inequalities, access, and food culture in India.
About the Experience:
Bringing together a group of eaters, cooks, and food thinkers, the event opened up a reflective and nuanced conversation about nutrition gaps, dietary diversity, and the cultural politics of nourishment in urban and rural India.
In collaboration with Bengaluru Oota Company, we curated a special fruit-based menu that highlighted regional, seasonal produce while reflecting on how fruits have historically held both medicinal and symbolic significance in Indian food traditions.
This dinner offered a much-needed space to discuss how nutrition is not just a scientific concept but a deeply social, cultural, and economic issue. It helped surface questions around affordability, access, traditional knowledge, urban consumption patterns, and food literacy in contemporary India.
It also reinforced the idea that food conversations — even virtual ones — can be powerful platforms for community, learning, and advocacy.
