Te per Te — Reggio Children, Italy
Hosted at Reggio Children, Reggio Emilia, Italy
As part of an immersive learning exchange with Reggio Children — the globally recognised centre for innovative education philosophies from Reggio Emilia, Italy — Edible Issues created the Te per Te programme, an experiential exploration of flavour, colour, memory, and origin through tea.
Experience Focus:
Engaging participants (children, educators, and researchers) in a sensorial journey that used tea as a medium to understand taste, place, and cultural connection.
Exploring how tea’s origins, colours, aromas, and textures evoke memory, prompt storytelling, and offer insights into identity and geography.
Observing and contributing to pedagogical practices around food and flavour literacy in early childhood education contexts.
This experience reinforced our belief that flavour education and food literacy can begin at any age — and that everyday foods like tea can be powerful tools to explore belonging, ecology, and multisensory learning. It also offered valuable insights into how food experiences can shape childhood memory, perception of place, and cultural curiosity.
